Pruven Performance / QTP cut out
Hey guys...well most you New England guys know my car. I bought the QTP exhaust cut out a while back and finally got down to Pruven to install it.
This was a super pain in the *** to have Dan weld into the car.
First off we decided to put it in the bottom of my Buschur down pipe.
(NOTE: QTP does make a downpipe with the y fitting welded in, HOWEVER, I am running a built car with a different downpipe and it all had to be done custom)
He had to cut the end of the pipe
Weld the cutout into the pipe
Weld a new wide band bung
Weld the exhuast hanger back on
Weld a flange to mat up with my cat
Weld and fabricate a turndown
and of course the wiring I had to do through the floor board into the cabin.
A pretty good amount of fabrication and measuring needed to be done to get this high enough under the car that it would avoid hitting anything. Also, I had him fab a turndown since I would rather flames hit the pavement than my fuel and alky lines on the 2 step
MY REVIEW: So far so good. My thought is that the cutout leaks a small amount of exhuast air because the car is a little louder at idle and on the highway. We checked for leaks everywhere and there is none. If you put your hand under the turn down for the cutout a little air is coming through. Otherwise this piece is awesome. When its open it is the single loudest thing I have ever heard at wot. You also can hear the turbo spool clearer than I ever thought possible.

Dude the funny thing is I called Nick from Buschur and told him my set up...so I said with the qtp cut out I can go with a real silent rear section to have the best of both worlds....and he said, "well the magnaflow muffler is really quiet and is our most streetable set up" (I started laughing and was like...not on my car
