Did you ever get this reinstalled? I'd like to know more about it after it was put back on the car.

yeah i had it on the day after i got it. I also installed the perrin intake (originally the stock airbox + drop in) so i can't speak to any gains from just the intake mani but i assume it helped add to the gains.

I'm willing to hear about the gains with the perrin filter as well. I've been looking into picking up a maf adapter and a filter and i recently discovered the perrin filter.

Nice MR TURCO
What was the wait time?
<--- Currently waiting on my ported IM and 65mm TB.
Should be here first of next week. I hope.

it only took them 1-2 business days to port it but my situation is a bit skewed (again) because it was literally delivered to their door the day before xmas so the turnaround time was like 2 weeks due to the holidays. I have another car so it wasn't really an issue. I am sure normally it is about a week if not less.

FYI: I installed just a ported intake manifold on my car (stock throttle body) and it was worth 2whp on an AWD DynoJet. I went from 378 to 380. I'm thinking the real gains to be had are with the larger throttle bodies.

The throttle body will help but I think the best thing from this upgrade is the throttle response is much more crisp. I have the PPI ported TB and mani and couldn't be happier. Mine is also coated which will only help. I got a hell of a deal on mine too, thanks to Mitch.

I am glad that I found this thread as some ported intake manifolds are just outrageously priced. I know Buschur swears by the ported intake manifold as being the best intake manifold for cars making under 500whp Mustang dyno power. To me, that is a selling factor alone.

Whoa. I would not say that passes the price-to-whp increase factor, my friend. Is this a manifold that was done elsewhere? I would have to say that a larger throttle body would do the trick.

I plan on going the same route as you did, my friend. And here is a nice review from Mellon for those of you interested.

bumping this thread once again

Any drivability issues with a ported intake manifold? If I just want to run it with the stock throttle body? I may go with STMs since they offer a core exchange, if it's worth doing.

Do both the ported IM/TB as a combo; no drivability issues on either my IX or X with this setup. I wouldn't bother doing one but not the other.
