Review: AWD Motosports 2-piece aluminum DS
As usual, Mike came through for me on this great piece. Install is cake, take out the old one, bolt the new one in. The stock unit weighed in @ about 36lbs. The AWD piece..21 lbs.
For those looking to lose some additonal rotational mass on the car and lost an extra joint in the DS, look into this very reasonably priced unit from AWD.
Mike, I'll be in Florida this Friday to drop off the core in person..can't wait to see the shop
Now for the pics...
Out of the box
Comparison to stock
Thanks to ya'll
Driveability impressions...no notable vibrating, loud noises. Only thing I heard that was new was a slight clicking on low rpm decel in 3rd-4th gears. Not a big deal at all...I use this piece in conjunction with the Quartermaster twin plate clutch, Buschur diff supports and Buschur Moustache bar...so I'm used to a few noises here and there
BTW..JRod if you see this...we could use a few BR stickers for the shop here too bro! You guys play a big role as well in the beasts we're turning out.

Got one too from Mike. This piece is awesome! The first night out with it I bounced off the rev limiter twice.
Good review. I was going to do one when I got mine but completely lost track of time.

It should have been marked wit two green pieces of tape to show which sides bolt up to each other. When the driveshaft is balanced, it is bolted up in a certain manner. You would want to bolt it up that same way when installing it on your car. Also, if you have worn out driveshaft bushings, I would reccommend replacing them with the beatrush aluminum bushings.
