Well i have read all the posts on the skunk2 manifold and did some research on my own also. According to skunk the original batch of these manifolds were casted incorrectly, so i waited for a while for them to fix the flaws. I just installed the skunk 2 on My 06, evo9 and it fit almost perfectly, the only thing i had to do was pull the clamp off the coolant hose going into the head, everything else fit fine. I am planning on dyno testing next month so i will post the results. would do it sooner but my car is getting fitted with some HKS final drive 4.11s

You know buschur did a big test and write up a couple years back IN DSPORT on all the big manifolds at that time. I think they need to do a fresh new test on all the latest manifolds! HINT, HINT

yes Buschur had one of the originals. he said through PM that the runners were cast a bit too large and didnt mate to the head well. he didnt even want to spend time testing it after he saw the flaw. I believe this is why reesetuning in this thread saw losses up top with it. for correct port matching the manifold should be slightly smaller than head.

HMM.. I wonder which version I have, the ports matched up exactly on point for me, I bought mine in July of 2009, I noticed mine was barely different around the throttle body area then a earlier one i saw the beginning of 2009. I hope I dont have the defective one LOL!

In the market for an intake manifold... Wondering if you ever got around to testing this thing.

you should talk to curt brown, he runs this skunk2 intake manifold.. it did require quite a bit of modifying tho to make power with it .. thats why i would recommend talking to him first.

another good option would be the map rev3.. it makes great mid range power.

This. I had great results with it on my IX. Highest WHP stock turbo/pump gas numbers on three different dynos.

Yeah, after reading all the install issues with the Junk2, my interest in it is dead. MAP rev3 will be my choice.

yes thats a good choice. the only other 2 id be willing to put on my car would be a magnus v5 or a ams f1i, which both require different upper piping. the map rev3 does the job and is semi stealth looking also.
