My Mellon tune... First Evo X tuned by Mellon on AP!
Well about a week and a half ago, I was talking to Chris (Mellon Tuning) in a thread and I mentioned about him doing a remote tune through my AP. He said he had yet to do an X like that. I sent him an email and he was willing to give it a try so off we went. First day or 2 was going out and logging 3rd gear pulls. After Chris working on the software and getting used to the differences from ECUtek, he went to work. A while later I sent him the payment and got an email with an attachment... I downloaded it and I was off to go and run another log that Chris requested.
After several logs on the same road, trying to do everything exactly the same way each time we finally finished up on Friday.
Chris likes to work and get things done, so email him, get it setup and let him get back to you, he will I promise and you'll be happy with the results. If you are doing a remote road tune, then be patient and ready to put in some time on the logging... use the same road.. a SAFE road and do everything exactly the same.
The End Result:
This is not a bragging section, but i'm big into fitness and do 300-500 crunches a night... i'll tell you now that it was hard to keep my head from being pushed into the seat. When the car is started it sounds and feels the same, but there is now a beast waiting to be unleashed. You can tell how it would be hard to keep a clutch in the car long because right off the bat, it wants to go. The stage 1 Cobb was a major improvement over stock, but this is just a totally different feeling. The car pulls HARD!, it is just an amazing feeling. When you get to redline you can tell that the engine wishes the RPMs went even further. Without being able to give you dyno numbers, I can tell you that the torque is seriously increased as well. Overall great experience... well worth the money and I highly recommend Mellon... you will not be disappointed!

What mods do you have? I'm in MD as well and have been trying to figure out where to get tunned when I'm ready. Also do you have any logs you can post from your AP so I can check them out?

the highest knock retard was 1.05, usually less than that
Code:

Thanks.
I don't know much about tunning but that seems like a lot to me? Using my OTS maps I see maybe .35 a couple times and .7 once.

yeah, i'm not doing that... sorry.. but all I can tell you is that you won't be disappointed! I have NO other mods... I have a green filter on the way, but that is it and at most I will get a TBE and an UICP... I only do air mods.

1.05 is hardly a lot at WOT... from what I understand.. however I am no tuning expert either. I'm sure Chris will touch on that subject for you though.

No prob... so you don't have a wideband either you did this just with the AP logs?
