New Shep tranny and Exedy clutch installed!

So I finally got my car back this past Friday after 2 months of waitng. I had Shepherd build my tranny with every option available besides the 4.11 final drive and I must say it's everything I hoped it would be
I can't say enough how much I LOVE this transmission! Feels and shifts soo much better than the stock unit. I have the EVO IX so the longer 3rd and 4th are great! Better for cruizing that's for sure. I'll be going to the track as soon as I get everything broke in properly.
I also had the Exedy Twin HD installed at the same time. I was expecting it to be a PITA to drive around town but it really isn't at all. In fact, I love it! Very precise and grabs like I want it to. I was so sick of the stock clutch! Along with all fresh fluids for the whole drivetrain, I got the shifter bushings for the cables and SS clutch lines. The shifter feels more precise and not so spongy.
I owe a big thanks to Rick at Import Drag Performance! He sold me the Exedy clutch and gave me a great price
I also wanted to thank Shepherd Racing Transmissions for the GREAT job they did on my trans. I couldn't be happier with it. And they got it done quickly.
The shop who did the installation of everything was SC Performance here in Columbia, SC. They did a great job! So if your in the Southeast don't hesistate to ask them about any work you need done to your car!

I have the Shep Trans Street/Strip build with the Nine 1st, 2nd gear and Eight 3rd , 4th and 5th gears.

The slight difference in gearing ratio between VIII and IX is a much better improvment. But honestly I dont think I feel any difference in shifting smoothness vs stock. I've been running Amsoil trans fluid, but that shouldnt make too much of a difference since I had that in the stocker as well.

excellent choice my friend!
Enjoy it!

i had mine built 10,000 miles ago and the tranny has seen anywhere from 350awhp to probably a bit over 600awhp currently... I would say more than 5,000 miles were over 420-430awhp...

Currently my 3rd and 5th is grinding so around spring i will send it to Shepherd again for a full service!

Probably driving habits causing the premature fail.. There's a lot of guys on this board that run shep built stuff with no problems.. I know of 3 personally that have the shep treatment and love it. One was a rebuilt 9 tranny just because, one is a full out built trans and transfer case and another guy I know just had his transfer case built.

Well considering he had over 400 whp running through that tranny for most of the time and probably saw a pretty good bit of track use...that's not all that bad. If your not breaking parts, your not breaking records.
