Synapse Synchronic BOV fitted to my IX (UK)
I had my BBK full fitted and mapped about 5 months and at first it was amazing driveabilty and rapid set up for daily use. Then i fitted some X wheels and upgraded the tyres to 255 width and randomly the car never seemed as quick and started to make surge noise's more and generally not as smooth. before i had it mapped i was going to upgrade the ix bov to a forge but never got round to it. any ways following another review on here i decided to go for it.
well the actual BOV is top nouch quality its a fair bit bigger and heavier than std it feels very purposeful.
Fitted was easy port A & B join via a T pipe with some vacum samco piping (which isn't supplied but both needed) and C goes to your compressor to boost control solidnoid via a T pipe (again required but not in kit) and then it just fits neatly in stock location.
Port C connection to line from compressor housing to MBC
From when you start the car it seems smoother generally my IX has covered 39k on std bov. so i let it warm up and WOW it picks up FASTER & HARDER through out! No crap it feels like when i first had it mapped my cousin drove it and said "jees that never use to pull like that." so impressed by the mod i started viewing the gauge and it was hitting 2.2bar so after a play i decided to set it on low setting until i have time to adjust. this is a must have for running passed 1.8bar i only wish i had it mapped with this on.

I think there was some testing done that recommended to keep this bov as horizontal as possible to keep flutter and pre-discharge away. I know keeping mine horizontal help with flutter greatly.

yeah i read that some where, because gravity and the way it valve operates its smoother and flutters less when mounted horizontally. I'll reposition it this weekend to see the difference. But well impressed at the moment.

Im glad your happy with your BOV. I have mine currently mounted vertically on my evo IX and i have no flutter issues. Also if you dont want it resting on your radiator pipe so muck you can simply loosen the clamp for the intake to the turbo and rotate it towards you (toward the fan). That should give you a little more clearance.

I've have covered about 1000 miles since installation and recently I've noticed it doesn't like cold morning pull off's (i live on a hill) as the revs drop (but doesn't stall) and seems to idle slightly rougher and also under full boost it seems to fluctuate as if the boost isn't holding and some surge issues generally. I can't imagine there is a fault with the valve itself but just wondering if it needs adjusting on the adjustment screw or is it a case of a leak on the pipework? Has anybody experienced these issues as it was faultless at first when I installed?

id look at those vacum tees if your having flutter or what feels like surge.
the synchronic BOV is a lot more sensitive to small changes/fluctuations in boost than a diaphragm style & giving it dedicated lines for the manifold & boost only source will typically fix those symptoms in my experience.
it also seems to improve the already quick response of this valve
also, as a previous poster mentioned, the bov is rubbing on the coolant hose, given time it will wear through & despite common conception, coolant does have the ability to catch fire if the ignition source is hot enough. given the proximity to the exhaust manifold, id get that taken care of asap

thanks for the advice guys the coolant hose rubbing has been dealt with buy slighty rotating the inlet pipe position, in regards to the surge issue and top end flutter under boost can you explain the T piece line issue and the resolution as i can't understand as at first it was working great?

Looking at the Synaspe forum and the Port A & B vacuum lines are teed alot later than mine, so i suppose dedicated lines as close to the intake manifold might help. i'll try tonight and report back.

Has anybody welded it to the intake pipe via the HKS ssqv fitting yet? i think i might try that if the new lines aren't successful.

I've received my BOV back from Synapse in San Diego and the port deletion is complete. I'll be removing the std IX off again asap!
Essentially they have blocked the port c outlet and changed some of the internals it seems as the adjustment washer has a rubber/plastic washer there now.

Can you explain the benefits of deleting the C-port?
Also, It doesn't appear that you are completely sold on keeping the valve positioned vertically and I am a little confused. Are you recommending keeping it vertical? Or was this 3rd party testing (a.k.a. someone on the forums)
I have had the synchronic for a while, using all combinations of vacuum ports (minus blocking the c-port) and I have a love-hate relationship with it. I really want it to work but can't find the sweet spot. Would you recommend blocking off the c-port? I regularly get mid-throttle blow offs (as expected) but they are violent to the point that is uncomfortable. Other times it can let off tons of boost in a totally seamless manner.
