Currently 0 degrees here!

Heck, it was 36 degrees in my garage this morning! Glad I put antifreeze back in the Evo as I wasn't sure if my garage got below freezing or not (2nd year at the new house).

Planning for 2011 is well underway. Schedules are pretty much out and set. Rulesets are not...

2011 NASA ruleset is finally available. Minimal changes.

We'll be setting up the car to compete in the highly competitive TTA class in 2011.
We took Regional honors this year in TTA hope to repeat as well as take Nationals in September at Mid-Ohio.

TTA (aka spec Corvette) is a very difficult class for the Evo to compete in but I have a few ideas on how to try and further maximize the car.

Not yet. I'm haven't scheduled the trip to Chicago yet.

I still have a few things to do to the car before it's ready. Basically put the intake & piping all back together and secure. After the boost leak testing, everything is a disheveled.

I figure late Jan or early Feb for the tune!

I've got my tuning appt scheduled at AMS for the end of the month. I'll post up my results once that's complete.

Here's some pics from the boost leak test I setup. I did everything with the car still loaded on the trailer in my garage! Not ideal, but not impossible.

Here's a pic of the turbo 'cap' I built. (On the left is the air hose.) It's a way to enter metered air into the stock turbo. I have an air compressor at home that I set initially to 20psi and let the system build up and started listening for major leaks. After tightening up a few intercooler hoses, I could hear major air leaking from around the injector seals.
Ideally I'd pump the system to about 30psi and it'd hold solid.

Building for TTA! TTA is a max 8.7:1 power/weight ratio.

While I did mention TTA above, I didn't go into detail on my build/rebuild for the class. I'm pretty secretive at times and also change my mind as we come across roadblocks and other issues so things can change.

My retune scheduled at AMS is really more of a touch-up than anything. The last time I was tuned was in mid-2008. And since then I've switched some parts in and out so we felt it was a good idea to get it back on the dyno. Plus I want to verify that the injector seals were the only leak - and see what power I can put down.

Maintenance and tuning trip to AMS is this week.

Really sucked working in the garage this weekend (not heated) while it was snowing out - but it was a bearable 40-45 degrees or so.
Got my new intake on and all the piping put back together and let it run for a bit. I'll post some updates after the trip is complete.

Trip to AMS complete - and good results!

Figured I'd start a new thread for 2011. Check it out for more more info and updates:
