PPI ported/coated Exhaust Manifold, 10.5 Hotside, O2 Housing

I had the opportunity to work with Wayne from PPI with my port/coat job. I sent out my parts on 8/30/10 and received them back on 10/8/10. The quality looks amazing. It's very obvious how much was ported out when you look at them side by side. I have interesting dyno result of "before and after" at the end of this thread. Here's what the parts look like when I received them back.

Exhaust Manifold

10.5 Hotside

O2 Housing

I thought PPI and Swaintech did an awesome coat job and a little cleanup on the inside, but the weld quality on Megan Racing's part is kinda dirty internally. The wastegate side of the hotside dumps into a tunnel in the O2 housing, which on Megan's product, runs into a significantly large lip where it enters the main part of the O2 housing (shown below). Uncoated, they go for about $100, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Here is a pic installed in the car...new parts are always eye candy

Power

So...what kind of power did I gain from installing all of these parts? Keep in mind that I came from a stock O2 housing and 9.8 hotside. I also took this time to do my 60k maintenance job to refresh things. Here's what I noticed afterwards:

- Peak load hits about 50-100rpms later @ ~3850rpms (vs 3750 before). UPDATE: I adjusted my wastegate by tightening it 2 full turns and now peak load is the same as before at 3750.
- I now have a well-defined peak torque around 4100rpms (see below pic)
- I had to run 1 more degree of timing at 3000rpms and 2 more degrees of timing at 3500 to keep the same power as before
- More power (~15hp) and torque (~20-25lb/ft) at around 4200rpms (this is with 1 degree less timing here)
- More power (~12-14hp) around 6000rpms (due to the ability to run 2 more degrees of timing there)
- Engine sounds different – more hollow sounding at lower rpms while accelerating

Dyno chart before vs after, both tuned @23.5psi, roughly one week apart in just about the same weather conditions:
