Competition Clutch Stage 3.5 - Street/Strip Series 2600 Segmented Ceramic
Part# 5152-2600
I had this clutch installed by CBRD Speedfactory a couple of weeks ago along with an OEM resurfaced Flywheel and an AMS Stainless Steel Upper Clutch Line, and it's now completely broken in. I'm still getting used to the initial engagement because i'm a noob (I need to play with the pedal adjustment a bit more to place it where I like), but it grabs great, doesn't make any more noise than my ACT HDSS used to, and it drives great. Driving around town is easy to do without any issue at all. Shifts are nice and smooth, and so far no lock out or any issues at high rpm. The clutch pedal is also slightly stiffer than stock and is not an issue at all. I honestly do not even notice it at all anymore. My left leg has never been sore and even in traffic, the pedal is not an issue. Period.
I utilized an OEM resurfaced Flywheel that I picked up from Grant (boosted91t). Thanks, dude!
Thanks to Chad, Mark, and Brent @ CBRD Speedfactory for all their help and doing a great job on the install!

The torque rating is 525 ft/lbs from what I've seen listed on the different sites. Comp does not list the torque rating.

It was slightly stiffer at first, but I am now 100% used to it. I swear, it's been almost a month now, and I don't even think about. It does not tire my leg at all. Zero affect on anything.

looks good! i am considering ditching my ACT since it seems to have become more noisey and my transmission doesnt shift as smooth as i would like it to.
is the torque rating measured at the crank or to the wheels?

Questions....
1. Hows the pedal travel? I know act has a long pedal travel... or mine does anyways.
2. Any lock out at all?
3. What does the AMS Clutch line do?
4. Any chatter?
5. You mentioned something in the other thread about the clutch when taking off...resolved issues?
Thanks!

Doing a google search by part#, various online sellers have it rated at: Torque Capacity: 525 ft/lbs

You can adjust your clutch pedal for as much or as little travel as you want. Going to either extreme will effect how your clutch engages and shifts. I've heard people with issues shifting at higher rpm's adjusting the pedal to engage further out to help this issue. So far I have had NO lock out issues at all in any gear at any rpm. Shifts great at all rpm.
2. Any lock out at all?
None at all
3. What does the AMS Clutch line do?
It's supposed to allow for a better clutch pedal feel since there is no more flex in the line since it's now SS. The OEM line is the standard rubber hose similar to your brake lines.
4. Any chatter?
I've heard people say that chatter and shudder are the same thing.
I have not noticed any rattling noises at all during engagement or driving with this clutch.
However, at lower rpm's, if you don't blip it and give it gas, it'll shudder a good amount. It basically feels like your engine/trans/rear diff are shaking like crazy but you're not going anywhere. Scared the crap out of me when it first happened, but you learn how to avoid that as you get used to the clutch. Give it a little more gas and you'll avoid it. Don't burn or over slip it. Just rev it a bit. At least that's what has worked for me so far.
5. You mentioned something in the other thread about the clutch when taking off...resolved issues?
Yes, for the most part. I think it just comes down to learning the clutch and how to drive again. New clutch = new technique and driving style.
Thanks!

In regards to Jalal's comments above-
I felt less shudder and engagement issues while driving- but it is acknowledged by the both of us that I drive ALOT more cars with these types of clutches than he does-
I would consider the engagement slightly harsher than a stage 2 HD exedy style clutch-
Cheers

I can't agree with that. When I sold my IX it had a Comp Stage 3 which the new owner ended up killing. He then put an Exedy Stage 2 HD in...he let me drive it after it was broken in and we both decided it was far too rough for a street car and made for a terrible DD clutch. I told him this beforehand since it's a 4-puck, but he didn't listen. The clutch has since been removed and replaced.

So it seems Competition Clutch has updated their site and is now calling this clutch their Stage 3.5 - Street/Strip Series 2600 Segmented Ceramic.
Just wanted to give people a heads up. The part number has not changed as far as I know.
Can a mod please update the title so that it's Stage 3.5?
Thanks!!!
