Very disappointed with AMS!

work load is severe! The owner of AMS is making a lot of money, drive fast and fancy cars. they have a big shop with a lot of people working in there. They are even well known in other countries. In this poor economy, they are still getting tons of business making lots of $ on labor and parts. Their parts are very expensive, b/c of R/D.
I'd support smaller shop anytime, their labor rate are more reasonable and still getting quality work done.

Guys I understand your frustration but times change and as a company we must do what we can to keep our doors open and move with the market and our customers. Right now the other platforms we are catering to are taking up a lot of our resources. If we were walmart or some other generalized type of store we could just hire people on. AMS is not that type of company and we dont operate in that type of industry. Qualified people are hard to come by and the space constraints of our current facility really doesnt allow for more staff.
We are not forgetting where we came from. Our EVO VIII catalog is still the biggest of all of our lines. Tuning is on hold because we have to focus on customers that want the entire job done at AMS. Too often we take in a car for "tuning" and it sits here for weeks because of a slew of mechanical problems. Now I have a car that was unscheduled that throws off the time tables for every other customer. This is a scenario we can no longer have and sadly it is one that happens very often here. I understand this upsets some of you but we learned long ago that you cant make everyone happy in this business. We have to do whats best for our company and ensure that we can continue to support this industry for many years to come.
Hopefully down the road things will settle down and we can take on outside tuning again, for now though it is on hold until further notice.

The owner drives a subaru legacy wagon...an old one.
It's uninformed posts like this that spread the hatred and fan the fire for no reason whatsoever. Despite what you think we are in fact doing what is best for our customers with this policy and in turn what is best for our business.

This thread has run its course. FWIW, I see a lot of speculation and demands for "hiring additional tuners and buying more dynos" by people who have no business perspective on what goes into making those types of decisions. Those comments were removed because they don't relate to the reality of the situation. Every business has the right to choose what services they do and do not offer. A note passed on through a local supplier during an order does not constitute an agreement.
