Mellon Tune, Stock Block PTE 6266 Rocks!
I visitted Mellon Racing this week to get a PTE 6266 installed and tuned. The drive was 960 miles and well worth it!! Chris has always provided the best service and superrior tuning
results in the past, and I was thrilled with the power results that this trip provided. I was looking to be in the for 500 WHP range, he exceeded this by 50 HP. The transient response was phenomenal for a bigger turbo. I would highly recommend Mellon for anything your evo needs. I will get Chris to post the results in the Dyno and Tuning section. Mellon Rocks!!

Eric likes his little S1's because they idle so well for daily driving but I can't help but wonder what it would do with some S2 or even S3's. 600awhp on the stock short block and 93 octane would be pretty impressive.

I don't remember for certain and don't want to guess. I'll let eric chime in since he's daily driving it and can verify. The goal here was to get FP black type of spool but T3 kind of power on pump gas.

I am still getting used to all of this new power, I am bouncing off of the rev limiter in 1st and second gears because it cooks through the powerband so fast. As far as spool, I will get back to you, the speed has kept my eyes on the road so I will check and give you an rpm range. I can't say enough about Chris at Mellonracing. When we first started tuning, the torque was way above where we ended up. He had to dial it down to keep the stock rods alive. The kit is from ETS, wonderful quality with a lot of power potential. I would highly recommend Mellon for anything EVO related, very knowledgable and explains everything as he goes through the tuning process. I am going to go to a built 2.3 in the near future, some type of set up like the AMS RR version so I can keep it together above 8500 rpm. Will update with spool soon!

so is it a fun, driveable car on the street? What kind of driving do you do primarily?
I'm a highway runner, I only drive my car around on sunny days and I'm always on the prowl for some friendly competition. I honestly dont like the really small stock turbo because I'm always in boost and there isn't really a big "hit" of power if you know what I mean

This is my daily driver, I am planning on doing some road racing and 1/4 mile drags this spring so I was looking for a nice balanced set up. This is a very streetable combination, the power is just a quick downshift away, full spool is at 4500-4600 rpm, by 5k it is lights out!!! Hits like a brick and pulls HARD to redline. I was concerned that it would not be as streetable as the green, but I am really enjoying the new power, it just takes a little different style of driving. With the 2.3 I should see a 500 to 600rpm reduction in spool. I will post track times when spring rolls around and the track opens. The tune makes the car very user friendly in traffic. I would highly recomend this turbo to anyone looking to wail on the local viper-vette crowd.
