On Stock turbo are there any gains going Hard Pipes over the Samco IC hose replacements?

My stock upper hose ballooned so bad that it wore away the aluminum foil on the hood liner. The stock hoses are somewhat prone to ballooning. I got the Samco hoses in BLACK and they look extra cool as they are stealthy and stock looking.

HAHA. I had the exact same thing happen to mine. I was wondering what in the world could've messed with the foil on the hood.

Ballooning...nice, time to get something before they go bad.

Stock balloon= bad, so is there an advantage to hardpipes over the samco?

FWIW, I'm going with hard pipes, hopefully that way I hopefully will never have to worry about "hoses gone bad" syndrome a'la the Vishnu Evo at the C&D tuner shootout.

As we speak, im adding a layer of silicone over hardpiping for heatshielding, trying to get the best of both worlds. I'll let you guys know the butt dyno results...

I have hard pipes and they have worked very well for me (RMR pipes, btw). The drawback to Samco (or any other silicone hose) is that they can end up with pinhole leaks. Mandrel-bent aluminum doesn't get pinhole leaks... The only bad thing is that the silicone connectors could...

For the lower IC pipe I will definitely be going with the AMS piece.

For the upper IC pipe, I'm not sure yet. Of all the options I've seen, Buschur's seems to be the best fit for me, since it is supposed to be able to clear the stock airbox. However, I REALLY liked the one on the HKS Evo and I may look into having one like that fabbed for me, since it takes most of the sharp bends out of the path. In any case, before I do the IC pipes, I'm going to relocate my battery to the trunk.
