Afterwards my pants were ripped by the boner that lotus gave me, he seriously made me look like I was parked.

ouch
With 3 guys in your car you will lose by a larger margin.

As to the comparison itself... come on.. u have 4 ppl in the car! Sometimes when I have just one person in the car.. I feel like the car just isnt moving...

If you do a straight 0-150mph run.. I dont think you'll lose out by that much (if u do lose out at all). Even at a rolling 100mph.. worst case scenario if evenly matched i.e. 1 driver v 1 driver, you should probably lose less than 2 car lengths... but then again.. depends on what mods you have on... having a mod that keeps boost constant and even at high rpms will help your top end acceleration a lot.

As the lotus driver to do a run on a very windy circuit with lots of hairpins and you'll see the lotus in your rear view mirror.. the lotus is a runway car.. the evo is a snake road car... just two different beasts meant for two different roads... pls dont make these kinds of comparisons....

As mentioned, a huge factor is the aerodynamics... those things are built like a wedged door stopper! The Evo, by comparison, is like a moving box...

I remember this car well, one of those cars you drewl about . I remember reading a article back in the 80's in car and driver stating the Lotus Esprit turbo was the fastest 4cyl production car made. It put the 4cyl turbo technology on the map. Here is an example of and 89 model SE. The 95 1/2 S4 (last year) made 300HP.

Performance statistics included: 264 hp @ 6,500rpm (280hp peak), 261ft/lbs at 3,900 rpm, 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, top speed was 164mph. Boosting 12.4psi.

yep...but the 907 series 2.2 liter all alloy slant 4 was a POS for reliability...you couldn't keep them together for more than 200 miles without a full and very expensive rebuild.....

Unlikely.. Elises are not built for speed and acceleration.. just handling and fun... not really the type of car you put up against and evo..

OK I am the Lotus Esprit Owner You raced!!!

My friend trev0006 told me about this post after I had raced Mistasparkle . Well my car is a 2002 Lotus Esprit V8 TT. It's the 25th anniversary addition which only means some cosmetic differences. My car stock had 350HP and it weighed around ~3050 lbs. I have changed the exhaust and it now has an open exhaust system which also deleted around ~100 lbs weight off the car. I changed the ECU to GT1 spec = ~100 HP gain by taking the stock boost of only .5 bar to 1.1 bar. I assume my car has around 450+ HP.

Mistasparkle: It was fun racing you. My wife screeeaaming all the way from 100MPH to 150 MPH when I finally put the breaks on. Who cares about that...It was fun. I get a lot of rice rockets trying to race me but I don't waste my gas however, I have a lot of respect for EVO cars after driving trev006's ex-EVO.

Happy Motoring and Happy Lotusing
