stage 1 evo VS Lotus Esprit

I was on a closed course with 3 guys in my car, all witnesses to what happened.

From a 100mph roll, the esprit literally pulled 2 BUSlengths on me in about 4 seconds, and kept pulling like nobody's business. I looked at my gearbox to make sure I wasn't in reverse. This guy seriously ripped me apart.

Afterwards my pants were ripped by the boner that lotus gave me, he seriously made me look like I was parked.

ouch

I don't know much about them, but I think that they were offered in turbo and V8 versions.

There are a couple of Espirit packages. The 4s has a 2.0L turbo which produces ~250hp. The V8 version runs twin turbos, but I'm not sure how much HP they are putting down. The thing about Lotus cars though is not their horsepower, its their weight. They are made out of space age bubble gum that has the strength of steel. Your Stage 1 probably puts out as much HP as the lotus, but you weighed at least an extra 500 lbs before you added your passengers (~500lbs more).

Try again w/ out the ride along spectators and see what happens.

The Lotus may not have been stock also. As easy as it is to get horsepower out of our 2L 4banger can you imagine what a couple mods will do for a twin turbo v8.

If it was the new Lotus, it has the same motor as the current Celica. Combine that with an ultra light weight chassie and its roadster layout and its one wicked beast.

SCC did a write-up about it a few months back and said it was one of the most leatheal track machines they had ever driven.

The last Espirits produced had twin-turbo 3.5L V8s with 350hp/295lb-ft. They could do a high 12 sec 1/4 mile. A stock one would be about the equivalent to a Stage 1+ Evo and wouldn't walk a Stage 1 like that. If that thing had an aftermarket exhaust like you said, who knows what else it had.

You are thinking of the Elise, completely different car. A Elise is quick, but not nearly as quick as its older brother.

He pulled on me like a raped ape. I could not even hear my car over his banshe screaming away. This thing was definately modded because i was looking at some pictures and the exhausts on his were bigger than mine. I gave mad props to that guy because the noise that lotus made under the tunnel was just orgasmic.

still try it again with no passengers. you prob will still loose, but 600 lbs or more is a BIG difference.plus your in an Evo also which isnt a top end car. 100 mph is where the Evo falls on its face a little. You can name any car just about and I have walked it to 110 or so, but after that its a different story.
