27 psi Boost Pressure Too High?

I reset the peaks on my gauges before doing three short runs at the track yesterday. Afterwards, I checked the peaks, and was surprised to see that I hit a boost of 27.6 psi. Is this unusually high? It felt pretty good to me.

Anyway, I have an XEDE with XEDEFlash, and I was running the Stage 0+ 93 Octane map with 100 Octane in the tank. Other peaks:

Intake Air Temp: 123.9°F
Oil Temp: 205°F
Water Temp: 190.9°F
EGT 1: 1,556°F
EGT 2: 1,574°F
EGT 3: 1,542°F
EGT 4: 1,556°F
Ambient Temp: 71°F

Well, with alcohol, I run 26psi with no problems at all. Get the head studs if you're gonna run that kinda boost though.

Are you by any chance running an electronic Autometer boost gauge? If so, it's probably like mine -- totally inaccurate.

I regularly "peg" my 30psi autometer guage. Frankly, it's pretty useless for showing actual boost numbers, but great for impressing passengers.

With 100oct in the tank, that boost is just fine. With 93oct, try to keep boost below 22psi. Although peaks betweens shifts my climb up by 0.5-1psi. Just go into the boost table and drop the numbers below 5500rpm by 5-6 points. That will drop your boost nicely. Of course, as others have suggested, confirm your boost gauge is reasonably accurate. I've seen autometer gauges off by 3-4psi at times.

One test is to see where the needle sits with the car off. It should sit at "0" If its sits much above or below that, it is inaccurate.

Thanks for the responses. Blowing my engine is definitely not an option.

I'm actually running SPA Technique dual-digital gauges. For the money, I'd hope they're accurate. Also, I zeroed all of the gauges. Is there any way to test a boost gauge?

I typically only blast around the road course five times before shutting things down. I'm pretty sure the oil temp will be higher when summer arrives.

The BS / Fuel Pressure gauge is on the A-pillar, but the BS gauge only takes readings when females are in the car.
