Angry P0300 error code 2005 evo Stage 1++

Shiv-
I have been getting this error code on my car I was tuned by you @ turbotrix last trip you made to the east coast. I was wondering if you guys have a fix for this?
If anyone else with the Xede having this problem please let me know. I know there are many treads about the P0300 error code but since I have a Xede and tuned by shiv himself maybe there is an update or a program/map i can load into the Xede myself to fix tis

thanks in advance for your help
Jose

Go to ebay, search for "CReader", pay the $40 and say goodbye to the light. If your car was tuned by Shiv, as mine was, P0300 is just the knock sensor being tripped by drivetrain noise and there is nothing wrong with your car. If you start seeing some other codes then I'd start to worry, but the Xede still keeps the factory knock control, so fuhgeddaboutit.

last time it happen it sounded like flutterring or like it was getting flodded under WOT @ 6000 rpm. As soon as I saw the light I let off. It happens at least 3 times a week I have to disconnect the battery to get rid of the light. How do I kwnow if I have a boost leak?
thanks in advance

boost leak will cause loss of power, not a misfire code. the fluttering you hear is the misfire itself.
do you have v3 ? is the misfire becoming more frequent ?

My car drives normal no misfiring.
just the lite coming on.
Mainly lite comes on at idle or deceleration in 3rd or 4th gear.
I,m running BR8ES ngk #5422 plugs gap at .025 inch.

the c-reader will get rid of the light, yet it still allows other codes to be thrown if there is an actual problem.

Upgrade to v3 may solve your problems. Some Evos are more prone to misfire than others. I had one almost every time I get on the gas, and it would come back almost as fast as I clear it. I bypassed the XEDE and it ran fine (except a little rich and light on boost). Turned out to be a bad chip in the XEDE unit which Vishnu replaced immediately.

Jose, I got the code coming back that same day too, on the NJ Turnpike, actually. It seemed to come on intermittently as well, for no reason at all. I ended up getting a code reader for $70 at Advance Auto, it's not the Creader, but I don't have to keep it plugged in all the time and it came with a little booklet that has all the error codes in it. Since then, I've only gotten P0300 about once or twice, and it hasn't come back. Makes me wonder if it was something in the NJ air.. haha

I sounds like you may be having an actual misfire problem. I would change out plugs, and perhaps swap coils with someone in your area, to see if the problem is cured.
