Best place to weld the BUNG for the S.M.A.R.T upgrade?

Just wondering. I know on the downpipe but where would be the best place on the downpipe?

I put mine at 12 o'clock right before the cat. Works perfect. If that scares you, maybe try 1 0'clock.

Bung

so the O2 is pointing straight up? Is there enough clearance between the exhaust and the chasis?

12 oclock means it would be pointing straight down. I believe it is very bad to have the sensor below the horizon.

Yup. At least on mine there is. That's why I said try 1 o'clock if you can't handle 12

That's 1 o'clock as you're looking at the front of the car from the back.

If I had time, I'd post a pic.

On a 3 inch downpipe I don't think you'll go past the horizon.

All this talk about 3", bungs, straight up... you guys scare me!! ! ! !

I like my bung right between my cheeks.

LOL, never below 3 or 9 10 to 2 is better 12 is best. At least 18" from turbo as far back as possible but never after a cat is best. End of the DP is great at 12. There are some pics of an install somewhere on the site. Do a search.

6 o'clock would be straight down.

Install the senor between 10 and 2 if possible. And make sure it is at least 12" away from the turbo, and before the cat.

i have 2, both are very near 12 o'clock just at the end of the transfer case. enough room to get an adjustable wrench in there.
