bump... my creader still not working. tried everything. ended up clearing the code by disconnecting the battery.

Vishnu, what can we do about this? those of us with creaders that cannot read or clear codes must get some answers. if there is another version that works better with the evo, we need to get them replaced.

 

For reference mine has the sticker w/ serial number and works just fine.

It sounds like Launch has two different revisions of the product and didn't tell anyone.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it is rather nice.

 

I don't think that the batch of shipments has anything to do with which reader you got. The SN that I'm referring to is on the back and not visible while it's in the package. I know that Sigfrid's reader came in the first batch, so it would seem to me that they (Launch) sold a whole lot of these things to Vishnu, some work and some don't. Further logic dictates that those with the SN on the back work while those without the SN don't.

How big is the sample at this juncture?

When I cited the batch I wan't suggesting that it was related to anything.

 

The sample is about 4 people I think. So far, all signs point to my hypothesis and no one has proven it wrong. There is still that chance though.

As for what you were or weren't suggesting, the fact that you quoted someones reference to a batch from Vishnu was why I made that comment. In the world of forums it's hard sometimes to read the exact meaning behind what someone typed.

I do not know if mine is working or not. It starts off saying "Launch", then it counts to 5 like it displays --1--, --2--, --3--, --4--, --5--, E and then it re-cycles itself. Is this what it is supposed to do? Anyway, my car runs fine without it one way or the other, even with the advanced SMART ignition table. I think that my car has thrown a 0300 once, and that was when I was giving Shiv a ride to the airport when unknown to me the wrist pin was backing out. So what is the CReader supposed to do?

Oh, no S/N on the back either.....

 

That's another one without the SN that doesn't work. What you're describing is exactly what we've been talking about, it's not working properly. The "E" means that it has no communication with the host. See post 35 in this thread or click https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...5&postcount=35

Hmmm, mine read the same thing ( countdown then E) but my creader do have the black and white bar code on one side!!

Do you have a code that it is not reading? is your engine light on? Maybe this is normal if there are no codes..
