exactly.. an objective question was asked... what were the laptimes... and what laptimes did their car put down 1 year before. Shiv answered the question. To accelerate an extra 10 mph and decl that extra 10 mph would easily take more than 2 seconds. SO its safe to say that the car is faster.

I pulled up the data from when we ran and overlaid it with the HKS car and it was pretty close. As shiv said we ran to 150 instead of 140 so it's not all comparable. This is run 3 which was their fastest overall time (we both have quicker segments on other runs). Their 1/4 mile was slow this run for instance but the made up by being quicker in other places. This means they could have gone faster if you put it all together (but so could we!). Remember we only did one run (they did five) because of a pesky intercooler hose. BTW on our 100-150mph run I missed the 4-5 shift , in my defence the car had a bent input shaft that made that shift difficult (that's my story and I sticking with it!). BTW we ran without ABS, I like the EVO that way. Any way here are the numbers;

HKS EVO 2005 \Vishnu EVO
Run # 3 \ 1
0-60 mph, sec 3.90 \ 3.7
0-100 mph, sec 11.67 \8.8
1/4-mile time ET, sec 12.60 \12.0
1/4-mile time TS, mph 104.20 \121
Time to entrance of road course, sec 19.04 \19.0
100-140, sec 10.52 \14.8 (100-150 for us)
140-0, feet 587.16 \710 (150-0 for us)
140-0, sec 6.09 \ 6.6 (150-0 for us)
Vmax, mph 140.20 \n/a
Road-course time, sec 48.90 \48.70
5-sec penalties 0 \0
Official time*, sec 102.90 \104.1

told you it was close , I agree with Shiv, we would have got them by a couple of seconds all things being equal (weather etc.). Feel free to draw your own conclusions

And if we didn’t have the intercooler hose issue, the result would have been better. There is always room for improvement, but unfortunately wins aren't based on hypothetical, or internet racing, and the moment we let the former take over, the flame wars inevitably become holy wars.

It's unfortunate that HKS was not able to compete with us the year before in the super car shootout...the two 4 cylinders would have made quite the mark.

It just felt like a very bad syncro on the upshifts, we did it (ok I did it ) during One Lap. One full week doing two track events per day with standing starts and of course running full power on c-16 seems to have taken it's toll

see you at the track
