Limey-
Yesterday turned into a long day. The short answer is that the Stage1+ cars were getting 310-320 HP on 93 octane with cats installed.

This seems low compared to the BM numbers back in October but it is evident that the BM dyno was reporting high numbers. My Stage 1 (minus cam gears) did 272HP/264TQ at Altered. After installing cam gears and retarding the cams 5 degrees, my car was measured at 315HP at BM. 43 HP increase from cam timing? I think not!

I encountered a boost leak yesterday and only pulled 303HP and 264TQ. Torque was down about 50 lb/ft from other cars due to leak. There was insufficient time to identify the source of the leak as it was already 6:15 PM before I finally got on the rollers and discovered it. I'll have to wait for another time to measure it once the leak is fixed.

I'm sure that others will post soon.

I was surprised that the numbers were not higher based on what Shiv has reported on his DD. He reported 285HP on 91 octane and 300 on 97-98 octane which equates to 327HP and 345HP on a Dynojet (using 15% correction factor). There were Stage1+ cars yesterday testing with both 100 octane and 93 octane. Highest HP was JBrennan's 323HP on 100 ocatane.

I will be curious to hear Shiv's comments after he has had some time to reflect on the entire day's results.

Thanks John for the news flash...It does sound as though rectifying that boost leak will net you some more...any idea's on where the leak is? what boost pressure are you seeing?
It looks as though changing from dyno to dyno has introduced too many variables to consider...this makes it extremely difficult to pinpoint the reason for the variation...I am disappointed that I was not able to be there this time, I have a lot on my plate at the moment....I will wait for Shiv to post
Cheers
What mods did the car that broke 320 have?

I'm curious to know also. Because AA AWD Dynojet could put some of this best dyno BS to rest.

I topped out at 323.2 HP on 100 octane:

That was with a high-flow cat in place.

Actual octane rating may have been closer to 99 or so, there was probably a gallon of 94 left in the tank when I added 5 gallons of 100 octane.

Sorry about that Jack, I did not see your sheet before you left. I still had expected your setup to yield @ 345HP.

Were you running a cat or testpipe? Shiv's 300HP DD car was 100 octane and test pipe.

Let's see what Shiv has to say when he's had time to digest all the info.

I edited the post with the graph to include more info. Yes, there was a cat in place. How much HP is a test pipe worth? I've heard around 10-20 HP?

It has to make more power then that, I have the Stage 1+ with the 91 oct map and no cam gears or fuel pump and raced a Z06 from 50-120 and pulled 2 cars on him and I did this 3 times and they put right at 350whp down. whonose

That power kinda sucks, the stage 1 was putting down like 310-320.

Different dyno, different day. It's unlikely that a Stage 1 would have put down those numbers on this dyno on Saturday. Unfortunately for such comparisons, I believe that every car present on Saturday had cams. Someone correct me if that's wrong...

My Stage 1+ made 319.5whp on 94oct. Puckadog's Stage 1+ made 323whp on 93oct. My car made 310whp in Oct. (BM Tranny) with Stage1. In order to truly compare Stage 1 with Stage 1+, we would have to dyno Stage 1+ at BM Tranny (Turbotrix). I definitely gained more than 10whp. The car pulls much harder with a very noticeable increase in torque. Puckadog's car gained 25 ftlbs of torque.

This is why its ridicuolus to compare results from one dyno to the other. They all read differently and the turbo trix dyno reads quiet high.

IMHO the best way is to compare a base line of the car before and after what ever tuning you are doing - look at the trq curve see how smooth it is - where to a/f is at - how much boost is being run - what the mods are - etc etc etc. Thats how you can begin to draw some eductaed conclusions.
