Well, good point, it won't really affect spool, but it does ramp up a bit quicker compared to the stock bleed system..
Actually, after seeing the AFR and boost curve, the solenoid wouldn't improve the ramp much.. might stabilize boost a bit and not fall off as much (assuming its not due to the limitations of the turbo)
You just can't beat the torque improvement.. that was my original goal.. You beat me to it..

I see the torque gain and it looks good but my questions are AFR's and Boost was it the same on both runs and how well does it hold. Do you have the sheets? I would love to see those sheets and I am sure it would help everyone else as well.

Well, this is the avenue I planned on going down for a long time. I also plan on porting the stock turbo a little, but for all intents and purposes it's the same. Nice to see the nice torque bump. Also, what kind of numbers would this put out on 91? I also wonder how piper rally cams would be different. Also, how much would a ported head make? Just curious. BTW, when does this sucker start spooling around? How much quicker than stock?

From that curve it looks like its about 200rpm later than his stock turbo with his earlier mods (Sound about right?) Ya know, the boost curve just doesn't tell the whole story, his torque curve is so close to stock until it just surpasses it when the stock curve topped out, the new turbo just keeps on going..
We're on the same wavelength about the head, I already picked up a core for a ported head.. I can't wait to hear more about this..

I think Shiv said that the tubular manifold will cause the Turbo to spool later. I assume that this is because it's essentially increasing the length of the "stuff" before the turbo... It helps with flow higher up in the RPM range though. That could be why it spools 200 rpm slower...
