straight 272's isn't even that bad at all as far as idle and you get way more power, personally I don't know why you'd want straight 264's... waste of money IMO

Care to elaborate, i see dynographs with different HKS combos and they all look about the same. Do you have firsthand experience with both setups.

_Way_ more power? Either you are wrong or the dyno is. I think I'll believe what the dyno says in this instance. The lift on them is identical, the only difference is 8 degrees of duration. The output variance is extremely small.

VTECh8tr- My gears are at -3/-2.

What are the differences between running -3/-3 and -2/-2. From the few things I've seen, -2/-2 seems to yield a little more power up top.

Negligable. More retardation = more peak = less midrange... to an extent.
