Faisafe's with the SMC kit?
Well I was really interested in the Aquamist DDS3 failsafe but it is out of my price range, the places I looked were almost $300. I am thinking of just running the failsafe through my Zeitronix and monitoring A/F ratio's but have heard this isnt as accurate. What other options might I have for a failsafe? I dont have alot to spend on this, around $100 is what the Zeitronix failsafe will run. Thanks for any other options.

the zt2 is accurate but slow, failsafe is triggered only after the result of no/low flow - high afr/egt, knock.
run the zt2 for now and you can always add the aquamist dds3 later if you want

The Zt-2 has 0.1 AFR accuracy, 0.1 PSI boost accuracy, 0.019V User Input resolution, and 1C EGT accuracy. The warning triggers offer you several different options for failsafe conditions.
The inputs are sampled over 1000 times per second. Not sure why do you call this kind of sampling slow

So by running the Zeitronix failsafe do I still run the risk of doing damage or will it still do its intented function. Basically is it worth running it or if something happens is stuff still going to go.....boom... before the failsafe kicks in?

There is 1001 ways to damage an engine. The Zt-2 with warnings and triggers gives you a very good layer of protection from high egts, high boost, lean AFR, empty meth tank, meth pump failure. You also get a benefit of free shift light As a matter of fact, you can also connect the user input into the oil pressure sensor or coolant temp sensor and set up a warning for those conditions. For example, the road race and rally teams utilize the Zt-2 coolant temp warning. In a drag race / meth injection application you want to use the Zt-2 User Input for meth fail safe. EGTs are important in all applications. Heat makes power, heat kills engines. The warnings need to be set up right and depend on your tune and paranoia level. TTP mastered the Zt-2 failsafe setup for EVO and they are a good place to ask advise on warning levels based on your tune.

The ZAVT warning from Zeitronix is anything but slow. If you are using just the user input Voltage as your only means of protection you are wasting your time as there are other products available for that measley function. When used as it should be ALONG WITH =LEAN AFR + TPS%> + BOOST> then EGT, then flow sensor as individual items, the unit becomes bulletproof.

For the safeguards and audio/visural warnings, yes. For boost cut we have a special solenoid also for this purpose.

I didn't realise the Zeitronix costs only around $100 with wideband.
This has to the cheapest fasilsafe around to monitor afr.
If flow sensor and egt probe is added, how much more do you have pay?

I am not a believer in the flow sensor to be honest. I find it to be a poor failsafe as partial leaks or clogs can circumvent the failsafe. The AFR/EGT/BOOST/TPS failsafe is as rock solid as they come. It is nice to know that those that are looking for yet another layer of some kind of protection, have that option ALSO with the ZEITRONIX units.
