No i have the SMC v.2 kit so no failsafe. I RARELY drive the car and I will never exceed 26 psi on the street with the car. I Wont get into boost that much either on the street. But if the motor happens to go then I will just build it. Not really worried but I am not trying to have to build it. I know I can put a failsafe in the system But I am new to meth injection and wouldnt know where to start. so i will just get the m15 jet and leave the boost low.. Well low for meth injection and just be nice to the car.

Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead but I was wondering if I was tuned for 100% meth can I still run a 50/50 mix on the same tune without any issues? I got some meth from a friend that didnt need it anymore that was already at a 50/50 mix. Should I dump it or can I use it?

Bringing this topic back from the dead. What is the difference between VP M1, M3 and M5? On their site they say (m1 = good, m3 = better, m5 = best) Is it possible to run M5 with an Aquamist HFS-6?

Basically it will be a little leaner and more retarded than before, and judging by how these cars are typically tuned, it means your car will probably be closer to dead-on with a 50/50 mix

Anything other than M1(talking straight methanol) and you will probably shorten the life and performance of the kit.
The lubricants in the M3 and M5 mix are not good for the pumps and seals in the systems.

Any M3 and/or M5 is bad for the system, even with water. The lubricants are oils which swell the pump diaphragm and seals. Enough will ruin the pump and affect the performance of the FCM.

If the the tune is set for 100% methanol in your reservoir and you decide to run 50% instead several things will be different. First, AFR will be less rich to extent of qty sprayed currently and tuned. Second thing, the ignition map, if previously set correctly when tuned, will fall short of sweet spot. This is because the water slows the overall flame kernal growth rate.

Just for reference my experience has been the lower octane your fuel the more meth to water you should run. Best pump gas available in my area is 90 octane. 50/50 made some gains over pump but 60/40 meth allowed me to run more timing and make about 10 more hp. I tried 100% meth and I seem to have even more room to tune now. Running 26psi a d 16 degrees of timing up top with 11.5 afrs. Virtual dyno says 398hp on a flat road.
If I was running 110 octane I'm sure more water in the mix would be better.
