Injection Fail Safe by Labonte MotorSports now available

The new Injection Fail Safe (IFS-10) by Labonte MotorSports is now in production and available to evolutionm members at 10% off during our "Get to Know Us Sale" from now until the end of November.

The IFS-10 is a complete redesign of our fail safe unit and is almost half the size of previous units. This new unit uses a 100% methanol compatible turbine flow sensor. Low Fluid Levels, pump failure, clogged nozzles, or overflow condition will result in the unit outputting a 12v signal that can be used to trigger a boost bypass solenoid or retard timing though anouther aftermarket unit.

Features:
  • 100% methanol compatible
  • 0-5v output proportional to flow for data log or input to one of our flow gauges.
  • 1.5amp 12v trigger output
  • User adjustable flow trigger for any nozzle size.
  • 1 year warranty

I just recently purchased/installed this fail safe and so far all has been working great.
It has only been 3 days but I will keep you posted.
Originally I had the snow fail safe which leaked from the first day.
I was told the snow fail safe leaked because I was using 100% meth.
Thanx again Dan for the excellent service and quick mailing.

What kind or brand of boost solenoid do you recommend for this system and do you carry this item?

The IFS-10 is a completely new design from the older SI-10 and SI-05 models. The IFS-10 has been tested and is compatible with 100% methanol.

The SI-10 and SI-05 were time consuming to manufacture and there were two issues where a leak could develope. One was during 04/06 time period where assembler did not use proper O-ring on pump input. The other was when snow replaced a gray plastic fitting with a metal one. Over tightening the metal fitting could result in cracking the plastic fitting and result in leak.

These issues have been addressed and resolved in the new IFS-10.

Best regards,

Dan

How does $36.50 sound?

Includes: Solenoid, 3 foot wire harness, 3 feet of boost line, boost T connector and a few electrical terminals. Oh and instructions would be good also.

Best regards,

Dan

What are the dimensions of the IFS-10?

From the other post. Am I right to assume you meant an over flow from a leak downstream will trigger a fault?

"The IFS-10 is a completely new 100% methanol compatible unit. It is designed to output a 12V signal in the event flow ever drops below a setpoint. This could be due to failed pump, clogged nozzle, or low fluid. If a line is ruptured/leaks up stream from the IFS-10, this can result in no flow and it will trigger a fault. If a line ruptures/leaks upstream of the IFS-10 this will be an over flow condition and the unit will trigger a fault."

Yes that is correct that I am incorrect above. It should be downstream, output of IFS-10 to nozzle.

Dan
