50/50 Meth tuning timing figures
Hey guys has anyone experienced the case where tuning on 50/50 water meth the max torque area of the timing map is just about the same timing figure or +1or 2 degrees more than on pump gas? I was expecting the timing to be more .

It could be as little as one or two degrees increase at peak torque because you also (hopefully) have increased boost pressure with the addition of methanol. I wouldn't fuss over how much more timing you can give it, just give it what it likes.

With a 50/50 mixture properly introduced into the ICP you "could" experience MBT just like Race fuel, E85 ect...
I have seen some WI cars with very impressive timing maps with large amounts of boost.
Just remember Boost will always move more air to = more power than timing. Keep going with it till you find the magic point on your car.

2 jets 1.0 and 0.8.. The 0.8 is about 5inches from the throttle and the 1.0 is by the gearbox . trigger point is 12% as im running 1050cc injectors. Boost is the same as pump 28psi on fpblack. What i have seen so far is more peek power (+30hp) as im able to run more timing up top without knock but max torque is only about 10ftlbs more. Another thing is my car does not like the 12.0 afrs on the 50/50. If prefers 11.4-11.5 afrs

Peak whp and tq wont be seen till about 12.5 afrs. I would also reccomend moving the the first jet a little bit further back from the TB to get better atomazation. Your in a cold, wet climate that being the case you could benifit from a more 75% meth 25% water mix due to cold having a dramatic effect on the H20's viscosity. In the summer bring it back to a 50/50 mix.

I am actually in the tropics. 30-32 degrees day and 25-28 degrees night 365 days a year. 12.5 afr

I have run 12.5 and found that for me on 100% meth I made more power around 11.8 or so. What system are you using? Is it progressive? I would turn the boost up some to 31-32psi. I seems strange that you would not be yeilding power gains. For me the meth gained about 75 peak hp. Have you tried 100% meth.

I have the HFS5. Didnt wanna try the 100% meth for couple reasons but I know by theory it should make the most power. My car does not like the lean afrs as well power is cut as it starts to knock

I suggested double pulse it because of you 1000cc+ injectors. You IDC may be pretty low around peak torque and not injecting much meth low down.
The HFS-5 is not scaleable like the HFS-3 or HFS-6. We have quick a few of this set up on this forum, it is very simple to do. See if I can find the drawing for it. It is here somewhere.

Max torque is around 5000-5400 rpm which is 60-63% duty cycle. Do I still need to double pulse. If so, please send me the drawing

If you develop pump leaks simply pull it apart and apply silicon gasket sealer to the pump head. I even used a little around where the inlet and outlet connections are. If you do not already have compression fittings, I have to recommend those as well. Good luck on the tune. I am also running a 1 and .8 jets. I am going to be changing to two 1 jets most likely. I used to run the 1 and .8 with my HFS-1 and I can tell that by my fuel map I am running alot less meth now, so stepping it up a little won't be an issue. You might also try upping the jet size as well.
