I don't have a problem with busting people for street racing if caught...that is stupid!! I do not agree,however, with the fact that law enforcement is targeting young people with performance built japanese cars just cause...that is stereotyping and violates numerous civil rights. And in time, if pursued, the law enforcement will lose that battle. The funny thing is, drunk driving kills more people than street racing does, the penalty for speeding is worse than a DUI. More children drown in the summertime in Arizona (and numerous other states I bet) than driving a performance car, yet the parents/adults, etc. who leave the children alone long enough to drown, don't even get in trouble and we get a fine for a friggin' exhaust...I love the US of A, but our legislation and local governments are recockulously retarded about some controversial issues!!

 

Yup when i took defensive driving here in ga the teacher was like i have a guy with 4 DUI's but since they were so many years apart all they had to do is take the course again.

in the past 5 years is when they REALLY started cracking down on repeat offenders oF DUII. Anything before the late 1990s was a fine. Before that they followed you home....Before that they poured out your beer and told you to try and make it home safely... Since there are more retards on the road killing people from drag racing, drinking and driving, etc. becomes more common..... More people on the road usually means more collisions (global expansion) when people **** there are more people...when those people ****.....you get the picture right? Now it's jail, fees for court, classes, etc. all at the expense of you. AMERICA Inc.

As much as this may be called discrimination it is more or less profit read this paragraph from the article. Easy money for the state is definetly grounds for them to pass these laws. Especially where the enthusiasts are many and are repeat offenders.
The biggest money making automobiles have been the Japenese cars for the last decade or so, and now they are making more money by modding these econo boxes to become muscle car contendors, taking away money that should be going to the domestic industry. So what do you think legislation and American pride in domestics is going to do (ofcourse this is done under the pretense that they are doing a service to protect the community ). That is why V8s with straight pipes, Harleys, Pickup trucks with modified exhaust can drive right past the cop (who are just as guilty if not more of street racing) and he only sees the Honda with a fart can and pulls em over.(not that I disagree with that) But Mitsu/Subarus are no exception either. Now I am not ignoring the fact that street racing is a danger but that is not the issue...it is modding cars, JDM specifically.

 

I have to disagree with you on that one. My white brother got busted for DUI, and after that he got caught with possession with intent to sell, they threw him in jail for a week then mandated an in patient 90 day treatment followed by 90 days sober living and 1 year of outpatient treatment. And he had to pay for all of it or go to jail for a few years. Well ok, my parents paid for the treatment.

 

They're not blaming most accidents on Asians.

What they're saying is car accidents are the leading cause of deaths among Asians in that age range. Big deal. I'll bet if you check the stats you'll see that carries over to every race or ethnicity.

What do they want the leading cause of death to be for ages 14-34, cancer or heart disease?
