I'm so sick of this crap. I'm ready to quit modding (motor parts) altogether with the exception of a flash, pump, and boost controller. I've already felt the pinch twice this week, neither resulting in a ticket. One from a San Marcos sheriff when leaving work, and another by a CHP who followed me all the way home before lighting me up when getting out of my car. Both said I probably shouldn't drive the car until I replace my muffler with the stock one. Guess it's back in the old Accord again for a while.

Don't hate the police -- hate the system.

Also, be respectful and thank the policeman for doing his job. It sounds stupid and you have to suck up your pride, but it works. Trust me, I have three relatives who are officers and they tell me that little stuff like that can be the difference between getting your ***** busted or getting off with a warning.

Also, with regard to modifications... The only way that the manufacturers are going to get CARB exemptions for their stuff is when California car owners stop buying their stuff. And if you buy non-CARB parts and stick them on your car, you know the consequences. If you're not handy with a wrench and willing to swap back to stock to deal with a ref appointment (you kept the stock stuff, right?), then you are basically screwed.

I don't like the system. It's stupid. An out-of-tune lawnmower puts out more unburned hydrocarbons in 10 minutes than my car will put out in a week, but they don't send the lawnmower owner to a smog ref.

You also have a system where a whole bunch of folks are driving around with modified engines/intakes/exhausts/etc. with absolutely no clue how much they are polluting (if any). Because they won't take the car in for a smog check without swapping it back to stock...

The system won't change easily, but ignoring it and hoping that you get away with your own personal rebellion is not the answer. Do something:

Note that State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth who represents a big piece of San Diego County is part of the "State Automotive Enthusiast Leadership Caucus" -- we do have friends in high places.

Anyway, enough of my soapbox...

^well great speach but the fact remains that the 2 lowest life forms on the planet are cops and lawyers... plain and simple...i have the criminal record to prove it... and if you knew the kind of person i am you would be really suprised...basically its all about revinue...who brings in the most money for the state...plain and simple...i got pulled over today...the cop said i was speeding...in coronado at 4pm... HOW!!! i made a left turn and stopped about 30yards in front of me and there he was standing on the side of the street waving for me to pull over... and then baltently lied to me about the speed limit...he said it was 20mph... and i didnt even shift out of first gear...so what does he give me...a ticket for not having my licence...which i just recently got back and explained it was enroute via the US postal service...when he called they confirmed it too...what a dick...he said i know you have a licence and you may have just ordered it but you dont have it on you... thats a measily $10 from me...

Just got back from the RaceLegal event at the Q.

Spoke to a few Evo drivers, but mostly just circled around doing runs; set a new personal best 1/8 mile with an 8.111 @ 86.87 mph, with a 1.773 60' time. Lost my matchup on that fast run, was up against a fast Civic that ran a 7.914, but I'm sure that contributed to making it a fast run for me, as I really wanted to catch him but I was just a few HP short (or a couple hundred pounds too heavy); still I think I got damn near everything I could out of the car on that run.

Anyway, nice talking to the few guys I did talk to...
