Moving to Fresno. Let me get a count!
Hey guys,
I'm selling my shop TK Motorsports in NC, to move to California. I will most likely be resideing in Fresno. How is the performance car scene in/near Fresno? Nite life? Shops? I hear the city is the biggest/best in middle Cali between LA and San Francisco. Is this true?
I'd love to move to LA, but the cost of living is just too high for me. Fresno, seems reasonable, but I really dont want to move to a city smaller and less exciting than what I'm used to(Greensboro, NC population 250,000)
Let me know guys.
-Tim K.

no evo major evo clubs in fresno. no major car clubs in fresno either. i drive to fresno every other weekend., have family there. to be honest with you, fresno is not all that great. i can say that b/c i use to live there. san jose, where i stay at is not bad. given that i've only been here for 4weeks. i too moved from the east coast., i still think fresno is small even though it has grown a lot since i last lived there... i see u live in greensboro. i use to live in burlington, nc. about 15 min. away. anyway, good luck on your move.

I hope this isn't too late.
Well I live in Fresno and the place isn't that bad nor that great. We have a ski resort about 1 hr and 30min from us, the beach is about 2 or 3 hrs away and San Francisco or LA is about 3 to 4 hrs away depending on how fast you drive. Button Willow the race tract is about 2 hrs south.
The night scene as in illegal racing used to be big until people died in crashes so the law is pretty strict. There's plenty of clubs and bars if you are into that. Aftermarket performance shop doesn't do very well here because of the income spectrum. All of the rich folks here just usually drive Benz, BMW or Lexus.
There's about less then 10 evo's town I think but no one ever started an Evo club.
Just PM if there's anything else I can help.

Why not move to Vegas? We have lots of Evos runing around, almost everyone knows eachother and we also have an awsome track out here that opens every other week. btw homes are cheap right now and the cost of living here is not expensive. Homes are going about 200k+ brand new. I sold my Cali home for 800k+ and it was more then 50 years old.

Fresno and Bakersfield are considered the armpit & a$$hole of California... Not sure which is which though. Summers are very, very hot. Perhaps you should take a trip to see what the people are like. I'm not gonna say any more, as I'm sure that I'll offend some people.

If you're from a place that's nice year round then it's going to be hard to get use to Fresno climate.
