Death of a Dealership
To Admins, didn't know where to post this, please move if it's in the wrong spot.
Well the dealership I bought my car from is no longer in business. The economy downturn didn't have anything to do with they're demise. The owner the dealership is also the owner of several other franchises(Chevrolet, Jeep/Chrysler, Mazda, and Kia), He recently built a new complex in Colorado between Greeley and Loveland to bring all of His dealerships into one place.
After buying my car at the dealership in Ft. Collins in November of 2008 they then shut up shop in the Spring of 2009 to move to the new complex but it only lasted for a little bit.
Turns out the owner was in deep doo-doo with the IRS and not paying off the Trade-in's, needless to say when the state and US government found out they shut Him down.
I'm fairly neutral about the whole thing, I didn't trust the dealership(or any dealership for that matter) but now the nearest Mitsubishi shop to get any service done is 50 miles away in Boulder/Denver.
Now everytime on my way to work I pass this complex of 4 brand new empty buildings with various car brands affixed to their fronts and big empty parking lots, kind of surreal.

I think Capitol Mitsubishi here in San Jose, CA is pulling the same thing. I bought a vehicle (EVO X MR RR) about 35 days ago, and i got a call from my original bank that I had my loan through stating I owed them...I attempted to explain to them that the vehicle should have been paid off by the dealer. I was told that there was no record of any payoff, and that the info that was provided to me by the dealership was not in there records. Im now considered late on my payment.
Im going to be calling the BBB on them for not finishing the legal paperwork and paying off the vehicle in a timely manor!
Feel like SCAM is written all over this...
