So, I was doing a few 4th gear and 1-4 gear pulls the other night (normal lift shifting and NTLS) and I seem to have developed an issue with 4th gear.

Shifting to 4th at any decent RPM (like 5k and above), the gear grinds while going in. every other gear seems smooth.

It isn't lockout because I have been shifting at like 7.5k (I do have an HDSS though)

Is my 4th gear synchro going bad? I'm not going to lie, I did grind 2nd gear a few times trying to learn NLTS, but I've always shifted to 4th clean.

I'm going to try to change the fluid first to see what happens. Any other ideas?

No lift to shift is never easy on synchronizers. Could be going south on you.

well shoot lol...that blows

I'll see what happens when I change the fluid, but I'll probably be taking it easy, indefinitely, until I can afford a rebuild haha

Normal shift, you are OFF throttle. RPM drop, transmission goes into gear, life goes on.

NLTS, you are ON throttle. RPM drop slightly, synchronizers absorb shock, transmission goes into gear, life goes on(with a reduction in life of synchronizers).

have you ever done NLTS very slowly....there seems to be absolutely ZERO power going through the drivetrain when the clutch is engaged, and zero ''shock''. Im not doubting you, I've just never noticed the shock...
