The high octane map numbers will never correlate to real world AFR. They are just arbitrary numbers. You need a wideband o2 otherwise you are tuning in the dark and have no real idea of actual AFR's.

Yep, what he said. I wouldn't mess with the low oct. map. That is setup so if things get a little off on the high oct. map the ecu can compensate and balance things out.

But yeah.... A wideband is a must!

For spool up shoot for 12.3-12 afr's.

Peak boost shoot for 11.7-11.9

Taper down to 11.5

This is based off of Merlin's guide. I think it is a solid start.

Yup, that's how my hi octane maps looks like. But the ecu doesn't want to follow that so I have to change the fuel calibration.

Hmm... Strange.

Just another thought, make sure you don't have an exhaust leak throwing your afr's off.

Unless ECUflash and the Evo 10 are entirely different than how we tune 8's and 9's Dan, then you need to know that the ECU doesn't give you an exact number that you are plugging into ECUFlash.(or cobb, etc). The only ECU's that have functionality like that are standalones, as they have a wideband hard wired into them. So when you say you are plugging in 11.5 for WOT at say 6500 rpm, the ECU isnt actually going to give you 11.5 AFR. That is why you need to log and adjust the entire map accordingly.

Evo X's are like 8,9.

Lets just say load cell 80 @ 2750 rpm is 14.7 and you want to get to a 12.3 you would add a little fuel in that cell then log and see if you are closer to your desired afr. If not add a little more fuel.

I do have a wideband, that's why I'm changing the fuel calibrations coz I know the octane maps r just "ideal" and just a guideline for the ecu, not necessarily what it needs to go with.

how can you tell your map looks like that without a wideband o2?

Many thanks to twabtoxer for hooking me up with the HVAC Control unit.

Does anyone have or know someone who is selling an IX front bumper cover (with lip) locally? I know I'm reaching on this one but I'd rather buy a used one in good shape before I start weighing my other options. I'm always skeptical about going for the "OEM replacement" after market stuff like this:
