Want definitive OTD price for Evo

I know there's other threads concerning this but I just wanted to make sure. I've been hearing OTD prices in the neighborhood of $32k for an msrp. Is that correct? How much exactly are taxes (I live in the Riverside area (school in Los Angeles area), and are there any other fees that go into the pricing? I'm looking to buy the Evo around May of next year and would try to buy the 2003 model but would they still exist new (definitely don't want to buy used after reading about how Evo owners push their Evos)? If so what's probably going to be a good price on them in May? I'm trying to keep the monthly payments in the $300 range with about $8k down...I don't have time to go to the dealerships and deal w/ the folks there so that's why I'm asking you knowledgeable folks. Anyways thanks for the help guys.

The car will sell for a lot less if you can find it then, which I think you will be able to, although maybe not the color you are looking for. Dealer cost with destination is $26,311. Check with your insurance company to see about taxes and license. Depending on the county, you could save 1/2 of 1 percent. A base evo in LA cost is, and I don't know if I have this right, is 10.25 percent give or take $50. That should bring dealer cost in at just a tick over $29K Ad a spoiler and a sunroof and it's a little over $30. $500 for the dealer and you should be all set.

Rumors are around about rebates in 04 because of a lot of inventory. If you can find it in may, you might be otd around 28 if you really dig.

Sweet. Thanks for the info. Hopefully there will be rebates and I can get one fairly cheap (Evo wise. heh). MSRP is so misleading...it ends up costing much more than they advertise. Oh well. I guess that just comes with the territory.

Is that price out the door? If not, what did you pay for tax/licence out the door?

Exactly, how did you guys get under $30k out the door?? Unless you got some mad hookups and got an invoice price (and possibly less) no way you can get less than $30k out the door. If there is a way, please educate me

Geez, no offense but it's hard to believe some of you guys who say you got it for $30k or less!! out the door. I'd like to know how you got that price and how much below invoice? Seriously $30k would be the best but I don't know of any dealer who'd sell it at that price OTD.

Barnabas,

Just call around. Ask for the Fleet/internet dealer. There's a dealer listing on the Mitsubishi web sight with all of the addresses and numbers. You don't have to go there in person. Just call. Most people are pretty cool and they'll understand if you can't come in. And if they insist you come down, call the next one. Also note that the sales taxes vary in different counties.

Here's the breakdown otd
Car price
Destination charge
Factory options (wing and sunroof)
Accessories
Sales tax 7.75 - 8.25 percent
Vehicle License Fee .67 percent
Registration fees $45

For example, the car w/ wing and destination in the paper was advertised at

$27,659 x 1.0825 x 1.0067 + $45 would be $29,986.87 .
