Evo meet/drive and Vishnu dyno day!

Updates as of 01.01.04:

Here is some updated info pertaining to what Shiv is offering up, quoted verbatim (so I won't screw anything up):

1. Dyno Runs: 75$ per car for how many runs it takes to get repeatable results (with no tuning). This is usually 4-6 dyno pulls.
2. For custom XFlashes, we'll do $495 for custom Xflash mapping (usual price is $395+200 for tuning). Each car will take 1 hour and should result in 20-30whp gains depending on the level of associated mods.
3. For baseline (no dyno) XFlashes, we'll charge $295 for that day ($100 off).

Furthermore, Shiv would like to set aside 5 spots for custom Xflashes and 5 spots for baseline pulls.

There is no limit to baseline standard Xflashes that can be done that day.

If you are interested in a custom Xflash or a dyno run, again, please say so.

Custom tuned Xflashes:
1. OB4
2. dpardo
3. leif
4. evo_dadi's friend
5. OPEN

Dyno runs:
1. evo_dadi
2. evo_gurl
3. Gonzo314
4. SouthernCrane
5. ericfcs.com

-----------

Hey guys, I would like to organize an Evo meet/drive and possible dyno day on January 24th.

I've spoken to a fellow Evo owner who is very interested and some local WRX and 240sx guys who would be more than willing to go.

Here is the plan so far:

1. Meet up at Starbucks at McCarthy ranch in Milpitas. This is located on 237 and 880.
2. Drive up 237 up through Calaveras Road, through the resevoir area.
3. Meet up Vishnu Tuning afterwards for discounted XFlashes to those who are interested along with dyno runs.

Time: 11am we meet, depart at 11.30, lasts till whenever we are done.

I already have a few people saying they want to participate, so the more merrier. Obviously, I would not advise bringing along a friend who drives a car that cannot handle well, since we don't necessarily want someone who will slow down the pack (if you own a Mustang or Camaro, please accept my apologies and sincerest regrets - we can't all own Evos).

If you're interested, please respond so I can add you to The List ™©.

The List ™©:

I am in, unless encountering some unforseen circumstances.
Humm, if Shiv comes, we will need a parachute to slow him down .

Well, we are not going to go 100 for sure. It is just that the drive is a bit twisty and people are going to want to take the corners at a reasonable speed. If you are bringing a mini van, it's just not going to cut it since it probably will not be able to make the turns at the speeds the other cars are. I will post up directions from all around the Bay Area. And I figured that SoCal guys probably would not to drive all the way up here, but I will post there nonetheless.

I am gonna bring along a few FRS radios and print out directions which I will hand out so no one gets lost. The map will also have our endpoint meeting place, which we will hopefully nail down in the next few days.

If no local tuners want to participate, no worries - I believe Evo_dadi has worked out a great contigency plan. More details as I get them.

Anyhow, I cannot see why a local tuner would not want to participate in this.

Pros:
1. They get their name out there to local customers.
2. They can make money off of dynoruns.
3. It gives them a chance to showcase their products.
4. It gives them a chance to sell products.
5. People will take pics, videos, etc and post it on the web along with testimonials on their product, which again could mean more selling of their super duper products. Yay for $$!!

Cons:
1. They will have to work on the weekend.
2. A chance that local customers may not like their products.
3. Might die on the way to their shop.
4. Fire bad.

[mr.burns]Excellent..[/mrburns].

I just got a response from Shiv. This *is* good news.

He said he is cool with the dyno day if we are interested. Furthermore, he will offer up discounts on Xflashes if anyone is interested.

I will get more info from him regarding time and hopefully just what the discount entails.

That is all.

I missed the last dyno day; it's a long drive for me, but that date is open so I may come along. Definitely want to see, hear, and ride in some modded Evos as I need to decide on which upgrade path to take: Shiv vs Works, etc.
