Thanks for the location
Alliance gas station in SFV sells 101 octane for $3.99.
Anyone know where this station is?
The cross streets are Sherman Way and Woodley.
You can take 405 North passed 101 and exit Sherman Way (west). Make a right onto Sherman way and stay straight. The station will be on your right hand side a couple blocks from the exit.

Unocal76 in Agoura (off the 101 at Cheseboro) had 100 octane for $3.95 last September. Anyone know if Alliance is a decent company? I've never tried it.
About the 15-20 hp, that's if you run 100 octane with modifications to compliment it, right? My understanding is just dumping higher octane into a car "as is" does very little, 1 hp at best.

I have read every post I can find in multiple bulletin boards on this subject and I am going to use one gallon of Toluene or Xylene per tank as soon as I find the cheapest place to buy it. For those of you who can buy 93 octane read no further this doesn't apply to you.
One thing I have noticed over and over is that the guys who can buy 93 or higher report 10 to 20% better gas mileage than I get.
If you can buy Toluene for $5 gallon and are paying $1.90 for 91 octane(like I am) and get a 12% increase in gas mileage it will cost you nothing to add one gallon of Toluene to each tank full. It should make the car run the way it is supposed too. You can get a 93 octane reflash. The car should run smoother and faster because it won't pull timing. Bushur, Vishnu and Al both report significant horsepower gains in a 91 vs 93 flash and the indication is that you will get much better power even without a reflash.
I'll let you know how it turns out. I wish some tuners would chime in on this subject with actual numbers from their dyno runs with various fuels.

Rocket fuel
The best price I have found on Xylene is $6.78 gallon from Sherwin Williams. I am running one gallon with 11.5 gallons of 91. I don't have any performance numbers but the car runs smoother and the gas mileage is better.
You can buy a gallon of Xylene in any Home Depot for $10.

This is a nice chart but it only works for a combination of 91 and 100 octane. Actually octane ratings are ratiomatic so it is very simple to figure these things out for 103 VP race fuel, 117 octane Xylene or 114 octane Toluene.
If this is a problem for anyone drop me a note with your problem and I will figure it out for you.

I not a chemist but I read everything I could find on the subject. I am currently running 1 gallon of Xylene to 12 gallons of 91 octane. These chemicals are normally found in gasoline so adding more shouldn't hurt anything. My car runs better and gets better mileage.

I am now through several tanks with one gallon of Xylene added to twelve gallons on 91. This approximates 93 octane. The car seems to run better and seems a little faster but I have no numbers. Stay tuned. Gas mileage is only up 5% but I am having so much fun.
