While the larger opening might allow for transmission of more noise, I didn't notice any change in sound or tone when I installed my own WORKS HFC.

I have had mine on for a few weeks now. About 350 miles logged. No SES problems to speak of.

The core is a ceramic base. WORKS tested several core types on multiple vehicles for thousands of miles and found the current one to be best. My HFC hit 3000 miles today with no light to be seen

BTW, what's the cell density (cpsi) of the WORKS HFC? And how does it compare to the cell density of the stock cat?

Bump on this one as well..........what is the cpsi of the Works HFC and what is the anticipated lifetime (based on mileage, I guess) ?

Given that the OEM cat is basically designed for the lifetime of the vehicle, I would hope a HFC would last at least 30,000 miles (or is that an unrealistic expectation?). If I'm gonna be throwing CELs and be emissions non-compliant after, say, 15k miles I think I'd rather stick with the stock one.

Anyone on here gone more than 20k trouble-free miles with this HFC?

Thanks guys.........

Thanks Evo Will.

Whilst searching around for vendors of hi-flow cats, I came across Milltek, a UK based company with a US distributor in Rochester NY (where I live). I currently have a Milltek catback on my S4 and it's top class, so I'm sure their cats are equally impressive (they sure sound good from their blurb).

Anyway, here's the link:

http://www.millteksport.com//hiflow.sports.cats.cfm

I contacted Bob Hamme today (US distributor at www.Stratmosphere.com) to find out about prices etc.

Hfc?

Does anyone have this on an EVO IX? If so are you running the factory o2 sensor on a VIII intermediate exhaust pipe or did you have one placed on the WORK HFC inlet/outlet cat piping?

Thanks.
